Keeping Busy in Broadway

Located in the village of Broadway, the jewel of the Cotswolds, The Swan Inn is perfectly placed to act as a base for visitors looking to enjoy the Cotswolds. In fact, the village is overlooked by Broadway Hill, the highest point in the northern Cotswolds and a popular spot with walkers and hill climbers.

Within the village itself, you’ll find the picturesque broadway – a wide, grass fringed main street lined with red chestnut trees and honey-coloured Cotswold limestone buildings, many of which date back to the 16th century.

Closely connected to the arts and crafts movement, Broadway is a centre for arts and antiques with links to many well-known artists, writers, and performing artists, such as William Morris, John Singer Sargent, J.M Barrie, and Mary Anderson. Local attractions include the Gordon Russel Museum, which celebrates the work of the 20th century furniture maker Sir Gordon Russell, the Broadway Museum and Art Gallery, and the Ashmolean Museum.

If you’re heading to enjoy the action and excitement at Cheltenham Racecourse, The Swan Inn offers the perfect spot to enjoy a bite to eat after a long day of racing.

Broadway is also just two hours from the hustle and bustle of central London, and is within easy reach of historic places such as Stratford upon Avon, Warwick, Oxford, and Bath.
